Mozedit

Mozedit is a text editor extension for Mozilla Firefox. It can open html files for quick editing via an edit in mozedit menu item under the Tools menu. It has tabs, document history, etc. Mozedit also has web development features, such as an inline html rendering preview, and tag insertion of the most common tags.

I am currently developing MozEdit 0.2.2 and adding lots of cool new features. The current prerelease version works with Firefox 1.0 and 1.5, though it has some bugs and is not feature complete. Use at your own risk.

I have rebuilt the extension to reduce complexity and make it compatible with Firefox 1.5. It is a very basic application right now and includes: open, save, save as, find, replace, Javascript Console, and inline browser preview of HTML code. Mozedit now supports UTF-8 encoding and can read/write international text files. Please no bug reports or feature suggestions for this release since this is a prototype and only has about 10% of the planned Mozedit features. I will soon begin to localize Mozedit once I have finished the prototype application. The next major feature I will get running is multiple document support with tabs and font styling options.
